Verified Reviewer |I have Toro lawnmower 21621. Bought...
When I tried to contact Toro via a link, I got you and asked what to do or how to contact Toro.
I have a Toro lawnmower 21621. I bought it in August 2023.
I've used it in a normal yard area, with no hills or rocks. The self-propelled feature has been a problem. I returned to the dealer, and he pushed it a few times across the ground. Then it worked for a few weeks.
After that, he came to my house and again pushed it several times across the ground, getting it to work. I've used it a total of 19 times, and it's now on its third problem, where the self-propel doesn't work. What could be the problem?
It cost over $700. Please help!
Preferred solution: Mower self propel to work or replace at no cost to me or full refund
User's recommendation: waiting for response

- 2011 snowblower has a red plastic fuel shutoff valve that is hard to turn.
- It was replaced in 2022 after under 70 hrs, still hard to operate.
2011 snowblower red plastic fuel shutoff valve extremely difficult to turn on & off for many years...had it replaced once in 2022 after less than 70 hrs use...since then only 15 hrs use & still extremely difficult to operate...has to be a better design replacement...don't want to leave it open...

Verified ReviewerResolved: Toro refuses to replace a recalled product
- The Toro Power Sweep Blower was recalled and replacement parts are unavailable.
- Customer service was unhelpful and referred me to a local dealer.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with other. My Toro blower was recalled, I requested help and a newblower replacement was sent to me.
I had to fight for it though.
Don’t take no for an answer, be persistent and stand your ground. Send emails , make phone calls, yes it’s stressful but paid off in the end.
Update 6-6-25Toro has been in contact with me to resolve this matter. Gave instructions of how to remove certain parts and mail to them.
They indicate I will have the blower replaced. Will update when I receive the product.
I have a Toro Power Sweep Blower, fan broke. Replacement part unavailable due to this product being recalled.
Customer Service is of no help, sent me to a local dealer. Cant fix it because it was recalled. All I wanted was a product replacement due to recall.
Cant get anyone at Toro to understand my request and will not do anything to help. I have emailed Toro public relations, as well as Toro CEO just to get my blower that was recalled replaced.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy Toro

Verified ReviewerBroken tine in snowblower
- A 2-week-old 2-stage snowblower ingested a stone.
- The axle-driven bolt tore through the tine's center.
- Toro says the broken tine is my fault.
Toro told me that warranty claims are resolved directly between the authorized dealer and Toro. They also said that the dealer makes the determination about the eligibility of the claim for warranty coverage.
But the dealer told me that Toro denied the claim. Both cannot be true.
Either the dealer makes the determination (as Toro claimed) or they don’t (as the dealer claimed). Leaving me stuck in the middle.
Had to change dealer because the first one was terribleMultiple phone calls to customer service required, foreign accents hard to understand.Escalated to a “supervisor” . Same bad accent.
Can go no further.
Must write to HQ. Ridiculous
My 2-week-old, 2-stage snowblower ingested a small stone which, prior to stalling the engine, caused the bolt that connects the tine to the axle to egg out the tine's hole. IOW, the bolt, which Toro refuses to call a shear pin, driven by the axle, tore through the sheet metal that makes up the tine's center.
Toro's phone support is foreign and hard to understand.
My local dealer continues to put my unit at the end of the line because I didn't buy from him. I went to another one (decent guy!).
Toro says the broken tine is my fault.

Verified Buyer |Disappointed with Toro's Quality and Service
- Longtime Toro users report quality decline with model 21462; startup smoke and a 2024 oil leak with piston damage.
I've had family members who used Toro products for over 10 years, and they were always impressed by the longevity and quality. Unfortunately, it seems that something has changed with Toro's manufacturing standards.
In April 2023, I purchased the Toro model #21462 to replace my old Craftsman mower.
From the beginning, I faced performance issues. About 1 in every 10 startups would result in the mower smoking, and I couldnt mow my yard without setting the mower to the highest height, mowing, then lowering the height gradually for multiple passes. This was frustrating, especially since I mow my lawn weekly, so the grass wasnt overly longsomething my previous mower handled with ease.
I contacted Toro, and they suggested I accept a side discharge attachment, which took months to arrive due to backorderslikely because other customers were experiencing similar issues. It finally arrived at the end of August/beginning of September.
With the side chute, I could mow my lawn, but still had to use the bag afterward. Not ideal, but at least it was workable.
However, the situation worsened. On July 8th, 2024, my teenage son called me at work to say the mower was smoking excessively, with oil leaking from the exhaust. I immediately contacted the dealer, who directed me to a local repair center.
I dropped the mower off on July 9th, and as I write this on August 15th, Im still waiting for resolution.
The repair shop informed me that theres a dent on the piston and foreign matter in the cylinderlikely from manufacturing. Theyve opened a claim and sent pictures to Toro/Briggs, but I just received a call from a representative who mentioned that they need more information and photos, and there's still a chance this issue might not be covered under warranty.
I live in Montana, where the mowing season runs from April to September. In a good year, I might use my mower for 6 months.
After only 9 months of use, Im now dealing with an oil-leaking, smoke-spewing, underpowered mower that might not even be covered under warranty. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and its clear that Toro's quality has declined significantly.
User's recommendation: Find another brand
Will not respond to email or calls
- Ordered a mower from Toro.com on 9/16/24; shipping expected in 5-7 days.
- Four weeks with no updates; cancellation request yielded no replies.
I placed an order for a mower on 9/16/24 at Toro.com at the recommendation of a local dealer who did not have the mower I wanted in stock. I received an acknowledgement by email from Toro saying the mower would ship in 5-7 days.
Three weeks went by with no shipment or updates, so I used the contact form on Toro.com to ask about the status of the order.
No reply from Toro.
Two days later I called Toro customer service and spoke with a very courteous man who said he would forward my concern to customer relations and they would contact me by email. Again, nothing from Toro.
I let another week go by - it is now four weeks since the order was placed - and called customer service again.
Again the man I spoke to was very courteous and said he would submit my request to cancel the order. That was three days ago, and I still have received no response from Toro.
In my view, any superiority of their product has been overshadowed by their poor customer relations.
User's recommendation: If you want a Toro, buy it from a retailer.
